Hip Hop coloring book...Not so sure about this.

Rapper Bun B and hip-hop writer Shea Serrano have teamed up to create Bun B’s Jumbo Coloring and Rap Activity Tumblr, a printable coloring book that’s way cooler than those kids’ pictures you grew up with. Bun B curates the site and Serrano draws portraits of well-known rappers, leaving it up to readers to fill in the color.

Bun B, who was one-half of the rap duo UGK, came up with the concept several months earlier. “We’re trying to be true to the artist, and make it a fun experience for everybody,” he tells Page Views. “We thought this was the best way to get the word out, and eventually we want this to get to print.”

The Tumblr has only been up for a month now, and it’s already received a very enthusiastic response. Some of the highlights include pictures of Tupac, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar.

“We’re happy that people are curious,” Serrano says. “I didn’t think that it would take off as fast as it did.”

The drawings are often accompanied by a little caption. “Drake has to walk the red carpet and his eyebrows aren’t here yet. Draw them in for him,” one page instructs.
